Carlton Cuse & Damon Lindelof Interview (Part Two) posted!

Here it is, Part Two of the Carlton Cuse/Damon Lindelof interview!

I hope the past couple of days were not too hard on you guys. ;)

Anyway, I wanted to use this opportunity to thank the countless fans who sent in questions (several hundreds of them!).

Obviously I had to make lots of cuts and choices, and basically wanted to ask Carlton and Damon what I thought were interesting questions that many fans had, as well as questions that were not often, if not ever, asked.

I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did making it.

Kubrick launch party at Meltdown Comics

Most of the Lost "The Powers That Be" (TPTB) gathered for the autograph session and launch party for the Medicom Kubrick Lost action figures at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood. The figures may or may not be to everyone's taste, but any Lost fan would be in envy of the fun time had by all last Wednesday November 19. In attendance were names such as : J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cuse, the writing duo of Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis, as well as stalwart Elizabeth Sarnoff and of course the recently poached-from-the-comics-world Brian K. Vaughan.

There was also an art gallery by executive producer Jack Bender, and in the LA Weekly gallery I spied the "Hatch Painting" as well as a painting from Widmore's bedroom, a sighting that confirmed for the first time it was yet another in-show artwork by Bender.

Photo galleries: Autographed goodies were available galore, as well as what looked to be a chance to suit up in authentic DHARMA jumpsuits, from the looks of several photo galleries posted by fans as well as the LA Weekly.

Take a look at the two photo galleries and have fun.

Lost panel interview (Friday)

Not the proper Lost panel - which is Saturday - but there has JUST been an hour long discussion at Comic Con with the writers. I was following live blog updates of the interview, and have not one, not two, but THREE different accounts of what was said! So thank you to DarkUFO's IOD, DocArzt's Tapdawg, and Ryan Ozawa. Be warned that any answer to a question posed by fans is potentially a SPOILER - and I warn you now there are questions and answers relating to what's to come! I will summarise after the links with some non-spoilery info, if you'd rather play it safe.

My quick summary - not a great reveal, I expect Saturday will be the big one. Little bit of info about what inspired Jeremy Bentham (prisons apparently?!). Also some talk about how for Lost, characters are the bread, mythology is the icing - so they're more interested in the people. They said some unanswered questions will stay unanswered (referencing those midicloreines from Star Wars - I'm gonna get heckled for my spelling by Jedis...). Also said about how Watchmen is such a great comic influence, yada yada. And that Hoodlum (who made Find 815) are also helping out development for this new ARG - so much for a fourth wall, one might argue! Lastly, just some general stuff about how the first three seasons were kinda more "on the spot" than "on the plan", but now an end is in sight - its "on plan" all the way!

Okay peeps, that's your lot - I've heard we may have a video to watch soon (you know the bluetooth RuckusGuy thing - well its a DHARMA hacked video apparently!). I will try and post this today if its available - but unfortunately I'm away from the Internet all weekend! The horror, I'll miss the Lost panel!!! Pity me!!! I will, however, try and get a substitute SysOp to post all the details. I really need some kind of hired help/PA... or at least a part-timer....

Damon comments on strike result

Good ol DocArzt dropped us a friendly line that Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online had a column interviewing scads of showrunners and similar ilk in the wake of the (almost) end of the WGA strike.

Here's the quote she received from Lost's Damon Lindelof:

"Indeed, it would appear that we are in the endgame of the strike. Personally, I couldn't be more psyched to be part of this union. Like any negotiation, some parts suck and some parts surpassed my wildest expectations for what we could accomplish, but most of all I'm left with a feeling of pride.

"As for Lost (pending the actual lifting of the strike, which we vote for on Tuesday), a game plan should begin to manifest by the end of the week. All I can say is that Carlton and I and the rest of the writers have every intention of making sure you guys get more episodes this season beyond the eight already completed. How many and how they will be aired is a conversation we'll be having with our bosses, but as soon as we've got a plan, we'll tell the fans first."
