Season 6 and Entire Series DVD and Blu-Ray

News is emerging about the release of two exciting new additions to a Lost fan's DVD or Blu-Ray collection.

TVShowsonDVD.com and other sources have revealed some details about the Season 6 DVD, as well as announcing Lost: The Complete Collection, both apparently slated for release on August 24, 2010.

The Season 6 set is going to be 5-disc collection at USD$60 for DVD and USD$80 for Blu-Ray.

The motherload, however, is 36 (Blu-Ray) or 37 (DVD) discs at USD$230 and USD$280 for DVD and Blu-Ray respectively. Not only will it include all 120 or so episodes, but also EVERY previous extra, PLUS an additional two hours of exclusive bonus content.

However, none of this news is official so far, so it all could be subject to change, or not even eventuate.

Season 5 DVD Sneak Peek

Hey all!

Capital C, the advertising company of the Season 5 DVD, contacted Lostpedia the other day to announce they're releasing sneak peeks of the DVD up until the beginning of Season 6!

The videos will be posted at this thread on the Lostpedia Forums, where you can also discuss their contents.

Here's the first one, where Darlton and cast members discuss the implications and reasons for Jughead exploding. (Like anything posted on Lostpedia, spoiler-free)

Seasons 1 and 2 to be released on Blu-Ray

On December 11, 2007, Lost: The Complete Third Season was released on both DVD and high-definition Blu-Ray disc. Since then, fans have been chomping at the bit to get the two previous installments, seasons one and two, into their Blu-Ray connection. Now, one and a half years later, their wish is finally coming true.

On June 16, 2009, seasons one and two of Lost will be released on Blu-Ray for the first time ever. This means that you will be able to watch the entire series to date, seasons one through five, in high definition.

It's about time, I say. Even though I don't have a Blu-ray player (hey, we're in a recession!), I'm certainly looking forward to getting one in the near future, and what better to watch on it than Lost? (That was rhetorical; there's nothing better to watch than Lost).

Both seasons are marketing on Amazon for $48.99 each, a great price for twenty-four hours of nonstop excitement. Check out the Blu-rays of season one and season two on Amazon.

And speaking of Blu-ray, don't forget that season five will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on December 8, as well as an interesting "DHARMA Initiation Kit" that is available with both the DVD and the Blu-ray for twenty more dollars.

If you don't have your Lost collection complete, now is the time to do it! The sixth and final season is just around the corner, and perhaps... a rewatch should be in order.

The Unexplored Third Season‎

We have just gotten word about the Season 3 box set DVDs. For all of you who constantly complain about the fourth season of our favorite show not being broadcast until February 2008, we'll have to wait just for six months until this bad boy of DVDs comes out. They have set the current release date for "Lost - The Unexplored Third Season" for December 11th. Of course, this doesn't exactly mean that it will come out on December 11th, given last year's Season 2 DVD date switch-around. Anyway, it looks like it's going to be a boring hiatus, in my opinion. Really, the only thing that we have to look forward to now is the release of the (supposed) video game.
