Comic Con Video *NO SPOILERS IN POST*

Apologies for a little radio silence on the Comic Con front here at Lostpedia, guys. We kind of made the exec decision to not post about the bits we heard, cause I think with the most stringent spoiler policy of any Lost site, it just didn't make sense when I know a lot of people out there don't want to know the Season 6 spoilers told.

But here is the full Comic Con 09 video in very nice quality for your viewing pleasure. Full credit is given to DocArzt and the uploader Tostie14. While I won't comment on any of the content involving the Q&A and whatever, I will be doing a separate post on two promotional videos that aired during the session. These I do not consider spoilers, and are similar to the Chang video we saw over the last two years. Thus, they are ARG-like clues in my mind and not in any way spoilery. I'll make it all clear in my next post though and ensure nobody gets spoiled should they consider the ads to be as such.

Finally, I'm not going to ask that comments to this post be regulated to avoid spoilers of what was said. If you don't want to see what others are saying about the video, then just don't click on the comments section.

  1. Why are all the video clips cut out?

  2. The video clips are cut out because they are property of ABC. They have been reposted on several other Lost blogs including SL-LOST.

Sidenote, additional credit for the videos should go to TheODI and not DocArzt, because TheODI is who got me my spot in line near the front.

  3. I enjoyed the videos and glad someone recorded them. I could have done without the profanity, though.

  4. Ah apologies for profanities, I should have made that clear in the post.

As for the video clips being cut, yeah it helps so the vids won't be taken down over copyright infringement. You can YouTube for ones showing that content, but they could be removed anytime. ABC might hopefully release a more official audio/video soon.

  5. Are there any transcripts out there yet, for those of us at work without headphones?

  7. Is this me or nobody talk about the "No, Jacob hasn't ever be seen before as someone else" answer which seems really important to me ?

  8. FrenchFlo,

What they're saying is that Jacob hasn't appeared as the smoke monster or a dead character or something else. I get a feeling that the "Jacob" in the cabin seen by Hurley and Locke is not the real deal.

I was intrigued by a couple of things in this panel. One, Carlton said that this season will feature different storytelling. He said the time travel season is over, the flashforward season is over... some think there will be flashes that go into alternate histories: what happens if the bomb worked and what happens if it didn't. With that in mind, I was intrigued by the second thing, that we would see Richard Alpert's backstory. Add in the comment about how we would see characters from Season 1, and the fact that we wouldn't see much Dharma stuff and I'm thinking...

What if the season begins with the Black Rock landing on the island, with Richard Alpert making his arrival then, as many think. But here's what hit me tonight: what if the people on the Black Rock look like the passengers of 815? What if they're the same actors, playing in some ways similar roles but with different names and, of course, in a different time?

Things that are fueling that thought: the idea of things having happened before (like Eloise saying that Desmond always doesn't buy the ring for Penny), Jacob and his nemesis musing on what the people always do when the come to the island, the sense from some characters (particularly Locke) that they have been there before. What if they keep being recinarnated in different times and keep coming to the island in different ways, and this happens until they get it (whatever "it" is) right? We assume, using the above example, that Eloise knows that Desmond always passes on buying that ring in THAT time; perhaps the various incarnations of Desmond have failed to propose to Penny in different ages.

Another thing that fuels this thought: remember Ajira 316 - Eloise tells Jack that he must try to recreate the circumstances of Oceanic 815 as much as he can. 316 had a dead man in a coffin in Locke, just as 815 had Christian; 316 had a guy with a guitar in Hurley, while 815 had Charlie with the guitar; 316 had a guy in cuffs in Sayid, while Kate was in cuffs on 815.

We know that there were cuffed (well, chained, actually) people on the Black Rock. Maybe there was someone with a guitar and a corpse-filled coffin. So maybe some of those basic elements are there, but are being played out by different characters (who are played by the original characters, so that Matthew Fox could be playing a guy named Randolph instead of Jack, for example).

That's a far-fetched idea and one that I have a hard time articulating clearly here. But time traveling and all the rest was pretty far-fetched, too. My thought is that the writers could show at the beginning of the season that this stuff has been happening throughout the generations. Then they could move forward in time to show that the bomb worked, that it changed the cycle of events somehow.

  9. Above is one of the better theories that I have heard, I think it was actually articulated quite well; I got completely what you meant.
It would provide an explanation for the 'proxy' thing, which I think had nothing to really back it up.
    I like.
