On December 11, 2007, Lost: The Complete Third Season was released on both DVD and high-definition Blu-Ray disc. Since then, fans have been chomping at the bit to get the two previous installments, seasons one and two, into their Blu-Ray connection. Now, one and a half years later, their wish is finally coming true.On June 16, 2009, seasons one and two of Lost will be released on Blu-Ray for the first time ever. This means that you will be able to watch the entire series to date, seasons one through five, in high definition.
It's about time, I say. Even though I don't have a Blu-ray player (hey, we're in a recession!), I'm certainly looking forward to getting one in the near future, and what better to watch on it than Lost? (That was rhetorical; there's nothing better to watch than Lost).
Both seasons are marketing on Amazon for $48.99 each, a great price for twenty-four hours of nonstop excitement. Check out the Blu-rays of season one and season two on Amazon.And speaking of Blu-ray, don't forget that season five will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on December 8, as well as an interesting "DHARMA Initiation Kit" that is available with both the DVD and the Blu-ray for twenty more dollars.
If you don't have your Lost collection complete, now is the time to do it! The sixth and final season is just around the corner, and perhaps... a rewatch should be in order.

ReplyDeleteSeason 1 was so high quality. That season already looks better than the others. On Blu-Ray it'll look ridiculous.
I can't wait for these, I already have them on pre-order. However, Season 3 is not available on Blu-ray in the UK. Season 4 looks fantastic on Blu, and since I have the DVD release too I can actually compare the difference and Blu-ray is much better to watch on. Hopefully Disney and ABC will see sense and release Season 3 here in the UK, otherwise I'm going to have a pretty big hole in my Blu-ray Lost collection!

ReplyDeleteAlso, does anyone know if we are ever going to get season 3 on blu-ray in the UK? For some reason we have 4, and 1 and 2 are on pre-order now.
Hmmm, I'm not sure whether to go for the seperate series or wait for a big chunky boxset after season 6, you just know there'll be something extra special for the whole six series.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to wait for the super duper "Survivor's Suitcase/John Locke dead body case" edition after the whole series wraps up. You KNOW that they're going to do some all encompassing package with bonus materials, cool gimmicky stuff that won't be on the individual dvd sets. As much as I'd like to get the individual seasons, I'm not going to buy the series twice, as much as I love this damn show.

ReplyDeleteEven though I do have all of the seasons separate, I'm still going to be S1-6 so that I can have a decent set instead of my dented and messy ones. My Season 3 set has no teeth on the disc holders inside the cases, they all broke off when they got sent in the post.
