Sun and Frank clearly see the rustling in the bushes that usually precedes Smokey when they dock, Sun is obviously very nervous about it. Then the rustling retreats and Christian appears...

This has probably been mentioned many times before but it became apparent in La Fleur when Sawyer says something about Richard Alpert's "eyeliner." That got me thinking that yes, Richard does wear a lot of eyeliner... just like an Egyptian! So of course R.A. = "RA" and again our friend Horace is in this episode and Horace is a homophone for "Horus" another Egyptian diety, bring us back to the statue and temple and all that.

Love this show

LS

Don't know if anyone noticed, but it seems to me t...

Don't know if anyone noticed, but it seems to me that new castaways as well traveled in time! Just a couple comments o...

First post so here goes. Just a couple comments on what I've been reading.

1.)Jack as Janitor - A lot of people seem to think Sawyer was behind this somehow and was doing this as an attempt to spite Jack. I prefer the theory that Jack is filling in for someone who scored poorly on the aptitude test. If Sawyer did forge the test, I think he made the results poor so that Jack wouldn't be given a position that he was incapable of performing. For instance, if he was made an electrician or scientist or something, he would attract suspicion when he couldn't do his job.

2.)Where is Daniel? - When the rest of the time travelers found Daniel in the jungle after Charlotte's death he was saying to himself, "I won't do it...I won't do it." He was probably talking about warning Charlotte, since he knew it wouldn't do any good. Daniel may have gone to the Orchid station in the hopes of traveling through time again to avoid having to tell Charlotte never to come back to the island. But if his prophecy is true, he will find his way back to the Dharma Initiative before Charlotte leaves the island.

3.)Did the Purge happen? - A few people have suggested that because the survivors went back in time it somehow changed the course of history and that there was no purge. As evidence they claim that the barracks have signs on them in 2007 that weren't there in 2004. Perhaps this is a remote corner of the barracks that we've never seen before or perhaps its an outpost. I would not however suggest yet that just because we signs that we haven't seen before that time has somehow changed. I think the Purge has still happened, and the barracks are in ruins because nobody's been living there for three years.

This has me curious. Stu Redman has the same kind of change as responsibility is thrust on him. He becomes a careful and compassionate leader because it was not a position he would have naturally chosen.

Also, it makes sense that Daniel had run off and joined the Others/Hostiles before this time. Charlotte said he was a strange man who came out of the jungle when he approached her at age 7. If he was a familiar face, a member of the DI, his message to never come back to the island might not have been as memorable or disturbing. We don't know when Daniel's experience at the Orchid occurred. It could have been in 1974, before he left the DI.

Concerning why they didn't all get transported bac...

Concerning why they didn't all get transported back to 1977, I just figured it was because, as Eloise told them before they left to go back to the island, if all of the Oceanic 6 didn't go back, the results would be "unpredictable." There was definitely a woman sitting in the background behind Christian, and it definitely didn't look like Sun to me! It was clearly a woman though, and my guess is that it wasn't a filming error because they could have easily edited it out if they wanted.
I think Invader Zim is referring to a different scene, because when I noticed the woman, Sun was not in the picture. Only Christian, and the woman appeared behind him.
