I don't even bother with the ARGs if they are first posted on Twitter. I may be wrong, but if they are canon to the show, they would have to be on the ABC.com website first (I'm not counting the Comic-con videos). I'm surprised by how many people bought into that Mystery Tales #40 on Twitter last summer. I'm not against people wanting to enjoy them, but I am against the people who pull the stunt and then apologize for it later (like bigspaceship1). Re: Lostpedia, all the articles are posted by fans of the show, so I don't know where the 'blame Lostpedia' comes from. The producers of LOST are great for planting Easter Eggs, but I'm dubious about anything that pops up on Twitter, just as I would ifb it appeared on a new blog.

Interesting, though I get suspicious when I see that the whois is protected by proxy. From a Google analysis, it also appears to me that the site has been made in Poland. Thus, while it's flash (i.e. very high spec fake), I still believe it is a fake at present - especially when the site was created over a year ago.

I don't think its Lostpedia's fault everyone fell for it. I think they did an excellent job of investigating it and reporting their findings....and remained skeptical (yet hopeful)throughout the investigation. Personally, I think its pretty cool how much effort went into WISH and since it does relate to Lost, I can totally see why it would be thoroughly discussed on this site.

I think we need to immediately delete these pages from Lostpedia. As Nick said, Lostpedia fueled this fire by reporting on this hoax. Deleting the pages is the simple next step here. I've added a mark for deletion thread in the discussions for Simeon Hobbes and Epithet Alpha

I feel a little torn about how this played out. It coulda gone either way. I coulda been wrong. It woulda been funnier if I'd been proven wrong and had to eat crow. I was fully prepared to apologize to Carlton Cuse. I had knee pads and everfin.

Unofficial ARGs are cool. ARGs posing as, or conveniently letting people think they are, official, are uncool. So it's very cool WISH came forward and set the record straight. I hope people participate for its merits and quality, and not cuz of some perceived affiliation w/Bad Robot.

Yeah I feel a little bit lame for going on about how awesome the new 'official' arg looks to my friends now. It still looks fun, but I appreciated it when by participating we get all this cool canon information that other fans don't get. Oh well.
