We, the loyal, detail-loving fans of LOST, know that not every mystery will be explained and not every loose end will be tied up, but there are certain mysteries I feel we are entitled to learn the answer. These are:
1. What is the Island? Is it Atlantis? Is it the playground of two/three demi-gods? Where did it come from?
2. Who really are Jacob and Jacob’s nemesis?
3. Who/what is the Smoke Monster? Is it an entity or just a servant called to do some one’s bidding?
4. Who is Richard and what is his back story?
5. Who are the Others that defend to the death the Island?
6. What happened to the crew of the Black Rock?
7. Why do the Others allow the Dharma Initiative to build Dharmaville and live there as well as all those stations?
8. Do we see what happened in Dharmaville between the Incident in 1977 and the Purge in 1992?
9. What is the true relationship of Eloise Hawking to Whitmore? Is she trying to help Whitmore or the Island?
10. In the Season Six finale, will our favorite survivor’s (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sayid) finally get off the Island and return to LA/Iran to live their lives in a redeemed, fulfilling manner?

Please present any theories you may have to answer the mysteries. I hope the writers of LOST follow along on this blog. Maybe we ,the fans, can influence the future scripts of the show. We can show that free-will wins out over destiny!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920393039273628205.post-29371782648884226922009-05-26T10:32:59.885-04:002009-05-26T10:32:59.885-04:00This is Sobek, the benefical and egyptian crocdile...This is Sobek, the benefical and egyptian crocdile God (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sobek). Still, Jack is the big prince in the royal LOST family of Christian, Jack, Claire and The Little Prince Aaron. Remember Jack's tattoo says, "he walks among them but is not one of them." (That was revealed in the episode called "Stranger in a Strange Land.") No theory yet, but it all points to something. Along with the whole show opening with Jack's eye. And remember that in the season 4 teaser mobisode "So It Begins" Christian was standing in the jungle when the plane crashed and told Vincent to go wake his son because "he has work to do."Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06633229876510593062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920393039273628205.post-86906235142843459932009-05-23T02:06:13.077-04:002009-05-23T02:06:13.077-04:00Casey,
About the time issue, I believe there are ...Casey,

About the time issue, I believe there are some little errors. When flight 316 goes back to the island, it should be very early 2008. When Locke left the island and met Widmore in Tunisia, the passport given to Locke was dated - I believe, because this is from memory - Dec. 12, 2007. After that, Locke goes to visit the Oceanic 6, gets killed, a few days pass before a funeral, at least a couple of days pass before flight 316, etc.

When Jack sees Ben in the funeral home at the end of Season 4, he tells Ben that he had seen Locke about a month earlier. So, it should already be January 2008, which puts the return exactly three years after the rescue of the Oceanic 6, which should have occured in January 2005.

The problem comes from the fact that the writers in the title cards say that 30 years separates 1977 from the "present" of the island, the scenes with Jacob's nemesis as Locke and Bram and Ilana and Ben. You'll notice that group never says "2007." Of course, it could be that 30 and a half years separate the time periods, so that it could be 1977 in Dharmaville and 2008 when Jacob is stabbed by Ben.

Either way, yes Jacob saw Hurley before he gets on flight 316.

We must remember that the writers make errors.

As for why Sun didn't return in time, the cynical part of me says that was to create dramatic tension. It was to keep her from being reunited with Jin. Is there a good reason that the writers have concocted? Who knows. I did forget about her deal with Widmore.

It's very hard to speculate on what will happen next year. A lot of the observations and theories seem good, but the writers will throw us for a few loops, no matter how hard we try.

I don't envy the writers, by the way. They have to wrap up the show, try to answer some of the bigger questions (I'm guessing we'll never know the answers to some smaller unresolved issues, so we'll keep watching the old episodes after the whole show is done, trying to guess the missing pieces), and reveal the larger issues of the importance of the island, the good vs. evil/white vs. black/free will vs. predestination stuff, etc. Can that really be done in 17 hours or so? It can, but they will have to cut out on the filler that they place in so many episodes and get down to business.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15489332130493602467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920393039273628205.post-80438709879477789642009-05-23T02:02:51.069-04:002009-05-23T02:02:51.069-04:00john said...

The following is my supporting data. Amen Ra is a dual deity devised to merge the worship of Amen with the older solar cult of Ra. By combining the two, the deities are said to dwell within one another. We have seen that Jacob and Jacob’s nemesis are equals and have been on the Island for a long time. Apollo (Sun god of the Greeks) candy bars have been seen throughout the series. We also have heard Jacob’s nemesis say to Jacob that he wants to kill Jacob and will find a loophole in order to accomplish this. Osiris was the god of the dead as well as the eternal afterlife. He was considered ruler, protector and overall judge of the dead. He ruled the world of men, while his brother Ra ruled the skies. We have seen the smoke Monster judge and then kill numerous people on the Island. We have seen the Smoke Monster emerging from tunnels under the Island and dragging people below the ground.
This would result in a triad ruling the events on the Island. We have seen Jacob physically “tag” people for some purpose by touching them or handing them an object. The Smoke Monster also has selectively killed certain individuals on the Island while allowing others who are just as guilty, in my opinion, live on. I expect to see in LOST Season Six Jacob’s nemesis select his group.
Whenever any of the hostiles is killed, the other hostiles demand the return of the dead bodies. The last thing Ben did for Alex was to “say goodbye to his daughter”. I suspect he did something to preserve her remains. Perhaps he carried her body to the temple tunnel that was underneath the house in the Barracks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4920393039273628205.post-35479126884580687602009-05-22T03:25:57.935-04:002009-05-22T03:25:57.935-04:00john said...
