Frame 6 with added pussyfooting

So again it seems like these posts start with an apology - the Internet is still down, and this little blogger is not impressed having to source a way to get on and talk about Lost stuff. It's a shame that one can't so much blog with the stuff when it comes to an Internet experience. Business should resume next week, and thanks to the commenters so far not busting my chops for the radio silence - loving that we have some understanding folk who'll give benefit of the doubtiness.

So much to get through from these past few. I'm not even going to bother with the news I hear that Dharma Wants You got an Emmy... I never cared what happened at those awards ever since they robbed Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Friends really on a number of occasions. Though obviously very happy for Mr Emerson and his Supporting Actor gong - well deserved is an understatement for that man. But anyway to Frame 6 of our dear poster hunt, and DCPB has all the details on a Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy gig-a-thon that revealed the new URL on one of the guitars - huckfinnwastaken.com

We find a nice sixth poster which at first looks a little lame, but on reading the description about gloss and the rest of the statue only visible in certain light and angles makes our interest peck up. A decent Oceanic 815 or Locke chair edition to the set, or another Hydra cage or DHARMA van??

  1. I quite like it. And I like the idea that part of it is only veiwable in a certain light, that's pretty awesome.

But wait, DWY won an Emmy? What in the world for? It was half complete and an utter waste of time at the end of it. The Lost Experience was amazing, did that win any awards?

  2. People, if you highlight the image, you paint it with your mouse... like when you wanna copy some text you see the rest of the statue... i guess thats what you see in a certain angle...try it!

  3. I really like the statue poster, but hate the Hydra one. Looks like some shoddy fanart, maybe it's actually a fake...dunno.

  4. first hint for Frame 7 is up: http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com/dcpb/x/hub.html [image only: http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com/dcpb/x/images/7hint1.jpg ]

looks like it's the first photo of Vincent from the promo page, "A Dog's Life" on ABC's Lost page. http://abc.go.com/shows/lost

    http://abc.go.com/shows/lost/photos/vincent/224568

Don't know what that means. Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  5. ...but if i had to guess, i'd say something will be happening in Madison, Wisconsin, since apparently "Madison the Dog" is Vincent's given name.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oh yeah...sorry for those comments complaining about how long it was taking for a new post. Didn't know your Internet was down.

    ReplyDelete
  7. New hint on the Hub.

My guess: It's at a PetsMart or PetCo. Seems like those are chew toys.

    ReplyDelete
  8. we have vincent, and we have some cheap carnival toys..ie: prizes. I think it is something to do with vincent price.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hmmm, wow, that's a thought that's totally unrelated to LOST. But who cares? Just to keep this up, next week is the start of October. Hmm, Vincent Price, Halloween...something to do with "Thriller", perhaps? (not!)

  10. These boys at lostpedia might be the laziest Lost followers around. They gave up on the Rewatch, then they only post news relating to this art hunt, and NOW they can't even post about the new frame!

Ok so this dude's internet has been down, but where are the rest? Where is Sam MacPherson (the guy who completely BLEW the Lost Rewatch)? I would happy to take his job, as he doesnt seem to take advantage of the opportunity too often.

  11. DCPB has updated with a street sign saying "Ventura Blvd 11600" I Googled, and that's the address of one "Flore Designs" studio in LA. Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Kinda tough for me to complain about the pace of this website, seeing as A.) It's free, B.) there's not an amazing amount of things going down, even with the DCPB site (the "new frame" you spoke of was a picture of doggie chew toys, how much of a post can you write to say "Look! Doggie Chew Toys!"?) , and C.) People have lives.

I don't imagine this site has an army of contributors at the ready to take the helm whenever anyone's connection goes out. And I might be wrong, but I doubt that they're getting paid to do this.

The number one way to cure frustration with the pace of the website would be to start your own, and mine all the hidden nuggets for yourself, do it how you feel it should be done.

But make sure you have time for it, otherwise, you end up with angry comments complaining that you don't update fast enough.

    ReplyDelete
  13. they are definately lazy

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh, these comments are often fun to read. For those who love irony, it's a treat to read - from an anonymous poster, nonetheless - "they are definately lazy." Yes, it appears that there are those who are even too lazy to attach their name to the post and there are far too many who are too lazy to use proper punctuation and spelling.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh Brian, don't you see how trivial names are on here anyway? My name isn't Brian, and yours might not be either, so how is putting a name any more commendable? What difference does it make?

Yes, that anonymous person can't spell, but his or her (grammar!) point is still valid. The folks at Lostpedia may work for free, but so do millions of other blogomaniacs, only they don't use it as an excuse to not do anything for the summer.

I for one am particularly disappointed with the Rewatch falling apart. I wish someone would grab the ball that Lostpedia dropped and run with it. And the suggestion to start your own site isn't the point; Lostpedia may be the DEFINITIVE site for Lost fandom, and when they have a medium as popular as this, they should take advantage.

    It's sold out.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The state of Lostpedia makes me :(. This was usually the first website I would visit even during off-months.

    ReplyDelete
  18. its me again grammar was never my strong suit just complaining when people say they will do one thing and dont follow through with it. Does that not bother you?

    ReplyDelete
  19. http://lostrewatchcontinued.blogspot.com/

Read that instead of lostpedia then.

    ReplyDelete
  20. if you're looking for LOST-related internet dramatics, hang out at LOSTARGS. I prefer LOSTpedia, but there's plenty of commotion over there, especially at yesterday's poster release.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh, my God, the new poster is AMAZING!!!! Too bad it's gone already.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The first hint for frame 8 is online.

    http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com/dcpb/x/hub.html

    Any ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Dharma Van poster is amazing by the way. MUCH much better than the overrated 'the Crash,' which is too literal, obvious, and cartoony. Some of us don't want art prints that can be explained in an instant - that are the equivalent of a boy band song. A poster that draws you in and invites you to discover deeper meaning - while also looking great- is exactly in keeping with the spirit of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What is the deeper meaning of the van poster?

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Brian" (my real name is most certainly Brian, by the way) and "anonymous," I am definitely bothered by the Lostpedia blog. I would agree that Lostpedia is THE best "Lost" site out there. I stumbled onto it a little late, but I've probably looked at the entry for every episode. I was astounded by the encyclopedic nature of Lostpedia's contents. How many other shows (or movies) have inspired such a thing?

The blog seemed to promise the Lost rewatch and since that has fallen through, I am disappointed. It would seem that they have been distracted by this business with the posters, and yet they can't even keep up with that.

Since the blog can't keep up with the Lostpedia entries, the question I have is, Why do certain people (such as Sam and Nick) get the right to create blog entries while those of us who come to this site regularly don't? Whoever is making these decisions clearly isn't making them on the basis of merit and competency.

Can anyone share how these guys came to be Lostpedia bloggers?

Anyway... there are new clues on the DCBP site. The smoke monster poster is very cool. I appreciate that a different color scheme was used.

  26. Why do I keep checking this blog for something new?!?!?! I've been such a long time supporter/defender but I am a little bummed...

  31. Lostpedia. I am finally done with you. I have given you many chances but you are no longer the constant you claim to be. I'm sure it's hard to keep a site up but many others are doing and aren't getting paid either. At least finish stuff you've started. Anyways, it's too bad you petered out before the last season. A bit sad really.

    Goodbye.

    ReplyDelete
  32. so sad to watch a terrific site go to waste and founder in the muck with inaction

    ReplyDelete
  33. Come on guys, I realise you all have stuff in real life to attend to. But keep this up to date. There have been two other frames and nothing on them whatsoever! Both of the posters were awesome and its a shame that you just couldn't stay committed to it. I enjoyed the Lost Rewatch and am still doing it, I'm starting to wonder what will happen when season six finally does roll around. Will anything happen then?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Maybe the guy died...and couldn't update lostpedia.

See ya in another life brother!

    ReplyDelete
  35. maybe he read a spoiler that ruined the ending so he killed himself

    ReplyDelete
  36. No, his Internet is out.

    ReplyDelete
  37. His internet is out for three weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  38. He just moved. I think that's on one of these posts.

  39. New clue.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is getting a bit ridiculous. The blog hasn't been updated in 3 weeks. If the person who is supposed to be doing it can't, why doesn't he give it up to someone else who will do it properly?

    ReplyDelete
  44. new clue. polo life thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was saying this when they abandoned the rewatch , and now i see they have abandonedc this project aswell. As i said before why lead the fans in who are loyal to their site only to drop us when they don't have the time. If you can't commit hand over to someone who can its as simple as that so don't make out you are the only ones who can do it and have busy lives. If you that busy then get more people to help.

    ReplyDelete
  46. no worries. LOSTpedia is collaborative - we can run this blog together, right from the comment section of this post!

The new poster will be revealed at http://polo67life.com today at 1 p.m. EST. (or is it EDT?)

There's a new MOTU out today, and you can watch it at http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2009/10/mysteries-of-universe-part-4.html.

  47. The latest Mysteries of the Universe video is pretty good. It gives us more information about Hanso and the DeGroots. I won't spoil anything, so go ahead and watch it and then let's discuss.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was super excited about last week's poster - revealed on my birthday! So, I put up a little post about the scene from The Hatch.
    http://mbpedia.blogspot.com/

Also, trying to support this person's Lost rewatch. They're putting in some good effort: http://lostrewatchcontinued.blogspot.com/

Meanwhile, this week's poster sold out in less than ten minutes!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Best Mysteries of the Universe yet...finally, some more on Hanso..really hoping he figures into the final season *somehow*, but would prefer more than a subtle nod to the fans :)

And yeah, the poster sold out in 7 minutes.

Lostpedia's updates are WAAAAAAY behind on the times. Thank God the users are maintaining the wiki

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, I'm glad I don't have the discretionary funds to actually consider buying the posters, because the ones I would want have sold out too quickly.

I liked learning about the Hanso-DeGroot connection. It seemed to me that the battle over the island (between Ben and Widmore) was one over the power of the island, and part of that power is connected to weapons. So, it makes sense that Hanso would fund DeGroot's island project.

  51. In case anyone cares, there's a clue posted for Frame 10: Melrose and Tokyo.

  57. Hey Everybody! I just wanted to let you all know that I have decided to sell my print on Ebay. #7 - "The Smoke Monster" by Ken Taylor. My intentions were to buy several of these, have them framed, and place them in my living room - but it's becoming near impossible to find another one as they sell out so quickly. So if you'd like to bid on this one, it's at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120484336522
    Happy Bidding!
